Having completed her professional cooking qualifications at Guildford College, with a specialism in Advanced Pastry, Anna worked in Zurich at the Bahnhofbuffet restaurant complex. Following 3 years working in London at the Mayfair Hotel as a fellow section head alongside Gordon Ramsay and then Maxims de Paris, she moved to New Jersey to cook for a pair of millionaires who entertained both corporate clients and friends in their own house.
Anna returned to London as a Chef de Partie at the Michelin starred Rue St. Jacques in London. From there she was enticed to join the Heals Restaurant on Tottenham Court Road as Head Chef where she achieved Michelin and Good Food Guide recognition for the restaurant and a 30 under 30 Acorn Award for herself (the cooking equivalent of an Oscar for successful rising stars of the industry).
Anna progressed from here to become Head Chef at firstly Deutsche Bank in the City and then BNP Paribas Bank in Marylebone. During this time, she also cooked a private meal for her majesty the Queen Mother and was the invited head chef for a European Community Lunch hosted by the then Prime Minister, Tony Blair at Lancaster House in London. In 2002, following the birth of her third child, Anna set up her own business offering homemade outside catering for both businesses and individuals as well as cookery lessons and party advice.
Anna is supported in her business by her husband Chris who manages the other aspects of the operation that don’t involve cooking! He also has considerable experience of the hospitality industry and met Anna in Switzerland when they were both working at the Restaurants Bahnhofbuffet in Zurich.
Whilst studying for his honours diploma in Hotel & Hospitality Management, Chris’s training included time at the Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane, London. He has been a Food & Beverage Manager at the 4 star Drury Lane Hotel and was General Manager of three well known, prestigious operations: Anton Mosimann’s Party Service in Knightsbridge, Highclere Castle near Newbury (now better known as Downton Abbey) and Terrance Conran’s Bluebird restaurant on the King’s Road.
However, Chris’s most exciting role was the 5 years he spent as an inspector for the world renown Michelin Hotel & Restaurant Guide working in the UK and Europe. For the past few years, Chris has been an invited diner and critic on the Chefs’ Table of the BBC’s Masterchef the Professionals programme. When it comes to Anna’s cooking, he is always complimentary as he values good food and a happy domestic life!
